We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Research Scientist to join our growing business of Holography Enabled Displays (HED) that meet the needs of advanced Head- and Helmet-Mounted Displays (HMD), Augmented Reality (AR) and In-Plane (IP) Head-Up Display (HUD) products. You will join a diverse research and development staff and help to support the prototyping and production of our new, cutting-edge products for our customers. Responsibilities
- Design HED subsystems based on market trends and customers’ requirements
- Perform detailed subsystem level analysis of the expected subsystem performance
- Lead the HED prototype development
- Work closely with the internal production team to mature HED towards productization
- Write proposals to the Government and Industry in the area of expertise
- Seek solutions for HUD, HMD systems and beyond
Qualifications
- Ph.D or Master’s degree in the field of Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering or Physics
- Experience in applied research and development of optics or photonic systems
- Experience with optical systems requiring any combination of the following: imaging, illumination, physical optics, stray light analysis, radiometry, photometry, holography, or nano-optics, ray trace and wavefront simulation, aberration compensation is highly desired
- Knowledge of optical design, modeling methods, and tools for imaging and illumination systems as well as tolerance analysis, including Code V, Zemax, Python or C++ programming
- Hands on experience in Optical Lab, including hologram recording and reconstruction
- Experience working, communicating, and collaborating in a cross-functional environment
